Dentistry, Gastronomy, gynecology and autism! 

The Mini Medical Conference at the Landmark Hotel, is one of seriese of lectures organized by amena about medical and behavioral issues related to autism in order to raise more awareness among families of persons of autism and help answer to their inquires.

This conference will host a Dentists specialized in Special need dentistry. A gastroenterologist with years of experience dealing with children under the spectrum. And a renowned Gynecologist with several years of experience dealing with puberty in girls and options that parents with special need daughters and more to learn about.

Antoine Karam, MD

Dr. Karam was born in Beirut, Lebanon and completed his high school studies in Lebanon before moving to the United States of America in 1990.  He pursued a degree in Biology and graduated with Honors from the University of Toledo, Ohio in 1991.  He then moved to Washington, DC where he attended graduate school at The George Washington University, in Washington, DC under the School of Medicine obtaining a double Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology with High Honors.   Dr. Karam earned a Doctor of Medicine Degree from The George Washington University before moving to Pittsburgh where he specialized in Obstetrics, Gynecologic Surgery and Infertility at MCP Hannehman Allegheny General Hospital.  He is a member of multiple professional Medical Societies and has been granted honorary memberships in multiple professional honorary scientific societies.

In an effort to give back and contribute to his home country, Dr. Karam moved back to Lebanon in 2002 and started a private practice in Lebanon where he established multiple private offices over the few years.  He currently operates and has admitting privileges at Trad Hospital, Clemenceau Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital, Clinique du Levant and The Middle East Institute of Health.  His focus is on infertility and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgeries.  He caters to all aspects of women’s health and has lectured about multiple gynecologic topics at International conferences.  Dr. Karam is highly interested in Personalized Medicine and the newly developing field of Nutrigenomics and its impact on health and benefits in preventive medicine. He is a firm believer in genetic testing to improve fertility and pregnancy outcomes for his patients.

Parallel to all of the above Dr. Karam is a professional pianist whose musical career started from the age of three and continue to this date.  He performed piano concerts, both solo and with orchestras in Lebanon, the Middle East, Europe and the USA.   The balance between Medicine and Music is a complementary aspect of life which he believes is similar to the symbiosis between mind and heart, and between body and soul. He earned multiple awards in Music and continues to perform to this day.
