Synopsis:
Born to an Algerian father and a Sicilian mother in Tunisia, I have always been a child of three cultures. This motherland is where my Algerian ancestors were born when it was called Ifriqiya. It is also home to my Sicilian grandparents whose parents were part of the important migration flux of the beginning of the last century. A workforce by the thousands reached the shores of this “Promised Land”.
A hundred years later, I embark on a quest to rediscover my Sicilian family, exiled for the past sixty years, scattered between Italy and France.
Director’s Biography:
Rim is a photographer, researcher and archivist of Tunisian History, Arts and Culture. She has taken part in many international photo exhibitions. “Manca Moro” is her first experience in cinema.

عن الفيلم:
ولدتُ في تونس من أب جزائري وأم صقلية وترعرعت في كنف هذه الحضارات الثلاث. هذه الأرض التي ولد فيها أجدادي الجزائريين منذ أن كانت تدعى إفريقيا والتي كانت قبلة لهجرة أجدادي الصقليين منذ بداية القرن الماضي هي مسقط رأسي. مجموعة من الأيدي العاملة الصقلية تهاجر بالآلاف نحو هذه "الأرض الموعودة".
بعد مضي مئة عام، أذهب في رحلة بحث وإعادة اكتشاف لعائلتي الصقلية في المهجر منذ 60 عاما والمشتتة بين إيطاليا وفرنسا.
عن المخرجة:
ريم تميمي مصوّرة فوتوغرافيّة، باحثة وأمينة أرشيف في تاريخ تونس وفنونها وثقافتها. شاركت في عديد من المعارض الفوتوغرافية. "مقرونة عربي" أول تجربة لها في عالم السينما.
